Party: SUP Club – April shower-dodging!

Looks like we've got the weather for it today – and the forecasts promise really light winds (albeit with potential for the heat of the day to set off a sea breeze, and a 50:50 chance of catching a shower or two). But we're hoping to strike lucky, and at least it should stay warm! (Keep an eye on conditions via www.wetndrysup.com/weather). With a 17:51 high tide, we have the opportunity to turn right from Two Tree slipway and head up to Benfleet Yacht Club for the first time in a long time. So we're going to meet from 6pm for a 6.20pm (prompt!) launch and paddle into a building ebb tide, before turning and hopefully flying home – c. 8km should take 90 minutes or so, maybe 2 hours at worst. So... we might be getting back around dusk, it's possible we'll have a bit of breeze in our faces at some point, and the water's still not warm – hence only confident paddlers please, who know they have the strength to keep going against the grain for a couple of hours if need be... (It's still early season, so no hire kit available.) Afterwards we're heading to the Smack in Old Leigh for beers and probably dinner.
