Gadje Scum
Gadje Scum formed in 2011 in Ghent (Belgium) and makes up part of the Den Hoed Music collective. Their music is best described as a harmonious mix of world and electronic music. With influences from gypsy, drum 'n' bass, ska, dub, circus, 8-bit and much more, the group successfully bridges the gap between exotic soundscapes and driving dance beats.
They are well-established on Belgium's live music scene, having made appearances at festivals such as Afro C, Gentse Feesten, Copacobano, Fiesta Solar, Zaradi Tebe, in clubs such as De Kreun and Kinky Star, as well as having shared stages with the likes of Asian Dub Foundation, Mad Professor and Orchestre International Du Vetex!
With a live show that boasts a 3-piece horn section, a guitarist that is more machine than man, and a rapid-fire MC, Gadje Scum is threatening to conquer the larger festivals and stages in 2015.
The band's previous release, the self-titled EP "Gadje Scum", was well-received by critics (see reviews in attachment) and garnered much attention from local radio stations, in addition to the reputable 22tracks.com, and also Worthy FM, the official radio station of Glastonbury Festival.
On their new EP, "No Laws On A Sunday", the group has further pushed the boundaries of their sound. With balkan beats, a healthy dose of latin, a smattering of jungle, a shot of dub and a pinch of hardcore, the band has travelled further along the diverse and untrodden path that they are paving for themselves.
