You Should Get To Know Us plays songs! These four guys go back to basics and do not care much about fancy concepts, fashion, or the opinion of prominent radio DJs. They do what they ought to do: play some freaking songs. Catchy melodies, surprising chords and politically aware lyrics are blend into a sound that is both refreshing and familiar. You Should Get To Know Us is inspired by musicians like Elliott Smith, Nirvana and Fountains of Wayne. They are confident to find a place for the ‘song’ in modern music once again.

Whilst Sam Forrest has already delivered an impressive array of sonic works with the UK rock group Nine Black Alps and the transatlantic alt-pop trio The Sorry Kisses, 2016 sees him set to deliver another innovative and bittersweet addition to his solo career.
Since 2006, Sam Forrest has been gradually creating an envious back catalogue of solo albums that shift between the rustic alt-country charms of Neil Young to the avant-noise work of the likes of Sonic Youth.
In 2015 his live appearances took him as far afield as Japan, Germany and the Netherlands, but 2016 sees him focussing on his new three-piece band to deliver some long-awaited live performances of his compact, yet perfectly formed, power pop songs.
Taking in a range of influences from the likes of Teenage Fanclub, Sparklehorse and Beck, the power-trio have also been hard at work in creating what will be Forrest’s seventh studio solo album, following up 2015’s critically acclaimed Candlelightwater.
