Party: Murphy's Pigs

A big band, a big sound and wonderfully entertaining. This is Murphy’s Pigs – the multi-award-winning, Celtic-rock ensemble renowned for its passion, energy and irreverence. Embark on a musical journey through the Celtic nations as Murphy's Pigs drags you headfirst into their world of rugged mountains, stormy oceans, fearsome battles, unrequited love and a drop or two of the whiskey.
Their unique style breathes new life into old favourites and firmly places their stamp on beloved standards and skilfully penned originals. Hilarious onstage banter, an insane number of instruments and rich, vocal harmonies unite to create a powerful, distinctive and memorable performance. There's no sacred ground here. Boisterous chorus songs and lilting ballads compel the gathering to sing along while spirited jigs, reels and hornpipes spur the dancers out onto the floor. One minute you’re crying into your beer the next minute you’re pouring it over your head with an exuberant cheer.
This ensemble has performed at the world’s largest Celtic Festival “Festival Interceltique de Lorient” in France (twice), Woodford Folk Festival, the National Music Muster (Gympie), the Australian Celtic Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival and many other festivals, cultural and corporate events. They have performed at the Queensland Performing Arts Complex with the Queensland Pops Orchestra, in front of thousands at Metricon Stadium and have twice been awarded ‘Artist of the Year’ at the Australian Celtic Music Awards.
Their music is featured on radio stations around Australia and in France, Germany, Canada and the United States of America.
If you like singing your heart out, stamping your feet, dancing like a loon, laughing until your sides split or simply enjoying some great entertainment then Murphy’s Pigs tick all the boxes.
