WEDNESDAY 25TH OCTOBER - THE RHYTHM METHOD RELEASE NEW SINGLE 'SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND' (MOSHI MOSHI)
-------------------------------------------------------
"…the London duo who are managing to accomplish the hitherto impossible seeming task of making indie music that feels brand new." –The Guardian
"… channel infectious pop, shining 80s synths and brass trumpets set beneath choruses with playful yet sincere lyrics" - Mixmag
"Put simply, when a man is tired of The Rhythm Method, he is tired of life" – i-D
"The Rhythm Method continue to be charismatic and confusing (and amazing)" –Popjustice
The Rhythm Method return with bank holiday anthem 'Something For The Weekend', their first release on Moshi Moshi. An eloquent and instantly addictive ode to love, summer and a good haircut, teeming with pay-day reverie and date-night stupor, it fast tracks the group to the front row of classic modern pop. Just one play on the songs' effortless blend of sun-drunk riffs, feel-good rhythm and amorously infectious vocals is enough to put it on the Saturday night speed dial.
'Something For The Weekend' joins an already formidable canon of irreverently incisive, endlessly inventive songs including 'Party Politics', 'Local, Girl', 'Home Sweet Home' and 'Cruel', which have earned the duo of vocalist and lyricist Joey Bradbury and songwriter Rowan Martin fans ranging from Matty Healy from The 1975 to actress and playwright Michaela Coel, Suggs, The Street's Mike Skinner and Denise Welch. Accolades from outlets including The Guardian, i-D, Dazed, Mixmag, Popjustice and Shortlist have further cemented the bands idiosyncratic credentials.
Continuing an already busy run of festival and headline slots throughout the year, which has seen the duo playing increasingly celebrated shows to countrywide fans singing back the angularly poetic lyrics by heart, The Rhythm Method are slated for a host of UK shows for the remainder of the year, including October dates supporting Shame and their own London headline on October 25th at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club.
