Jamil Sheriff’s "Rafe’s Dilemma"

Pianist/composer Jamil Sheriff is back with a major new work inspired by Bolton playwright Bill Naughton.
"Rafe's Dilemma" depicts the emotional story of the play Spring and Port Wine, its characters, family dynamic and political backdrop. Mixing improvised music and original songs performed by Nel Begley this is an exciting set of music that takes you on a real journey.
Jamil, who is the Curriculum Leader for Jazz and Folk at Leeds College of Music, is known for his lyrical and rhythmic approach to original music and has been described by The Guardian as "someone who has made a real difference to the vitality of the jazz scene in the North of England." With this new project Jamil is sure to enhance his reputation.
