Our Wild Life Special series continues with the arrival of riddim obsessives, Jus Now who will be joining our Wild Life residents for the best Friday night party in the lead up to Xmas!
If you can’t wait another 10 months for Carnival to rear its florid, feathered head get down to the Queen of Hoxton on 12th December for some juicy Caribbean beats.
Fusing the sub-heavy sound of UK underground with an exhilarating mix of Trinidadian soca rhythms, Jus Now is a collaboration between Interface and LAZAbeam who were brought together in Bristol in early 2012 by the duo’s shared love of drum and bass. A special blend of tropical percussive beats, carnival-inspired rhythms and lurching tempos, Jus Now have enjoyed significant support from Skream, Major Lazer, Toddla T, Redlight and Lil Silva over the years. Their debut EP ‘One Time’ which landed in March last year took the UK bass scene by storm, and has since seen the pair make regular appearances on BBC Radio 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Rolling Stone, The Fader, CRACK and Noisey amongst others.
With a DJ show which captures the spirit, sweat and spice of the sun-drenched islands, expect an energising performance which zigzags between classic DnB, soca, bhangra, calypso and dancehall.
