Thee Ones
Great music must be real and come from the soul, without compromise or restriction. It can not be faked!
Thee Ones play from the soul with all their heart and follow this rule as gospel.
Formed nearly 10 years ago Thee Ones have created their unique brand of Soul / Rhythm & Blues mixing latin rhythms and driving power. Most of Thee Ones songs are written by Nick Buckle and paint pictures of paint stripped cities, love found and lost, forgotten sea side towns and back street gigolos. These vignettes mix in to a collection of unusual cover versions that Thee Ones have picked out from Nick’s collection of 50’s and 60’s 45’s. Songs like ‘Daddy Rollin’ Stone’ which was written by Otis Blackwell in 1953 (who later wrote for Elvis) which became a favourite in Jamaica where it was recorded by Derek Martin. The song later became part of The Who’s early 60’s Mod repertoire. And the over looked, ‘Rich Woman’ originally by Lil’ Millet and his Creoles which delivers classic swamp mambo style blues which was popular in New Orleans in the early 50’s.
