Acclaimed as the “Angel of Australia”, MIRUSIA gained worldwide fame as the featured soprano soloist with André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra. Born in Australia to Dutch parents, she studied opera at the Queensland Conservatorium and at the age of 21, was announced as the youngest winner ever of the prestigious Dame Joan Sutherland Opera Award.
“What then followed in my career can only be described as a fairy tale come true,” says MIRUSIA. Her Dutch aunt wrote an email to André Rieu to introduce him to her and after watching and listening to some clips on her website, Rieu called her right away at home in Australia. Just two days after this first phone call she auditioned for Rieu in Maastricht in The Netherlands. It was a success and she returned to Australia with a contract in hand. The beautiful blonde soprano then moved to Maastricht, The Netherlands, where she was welcomed with open arms and since 2007 has been touring all over the world enchanting millions of people with her voice.
In 2016, following her international tours with André Rieu and solo European tours, MIRUSIA will be bringing her beautiful voice and charming personality back home to her Australian fans. She will be touring nationally, presenting her new concert program “This Time Tomorrow”.
