About your speaker:
Dr. Michael Needham was born and grew up in South Armagh close to the British/Irish border during the height of the troubles and the subsequent dawn of peace with the Good Friday agreement.
As a resident of the area he has a unique perspective of what life is currently like living along the border and the challenges and opportunities that exist now and into the future. His speech aims to give the audience a view on the reason why Brexit came about, the current economic realities of both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, the key players involved within the Brexit process and the possible outcomes.
Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Queens University Belfast, a Master’s degree in Purchasing & Supply chain management from Aberdeen Business School Scotland and a PhD on the sharing of process improvement knowledge from the Ulster University Jordanstown. He is a strategic advisor to organizations seeking to improve their performance with notable clients to date including AIB (AlliedIrishBank), Trinity College Dublin and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
