Local professional improvisational company, ComedySportz Indianapolis, will be holding tryouts for its long-standing, sports-themed improv troupe on Saturday, June 3 at 12:00PM and Sunday, June 4 at 1:00PM.
Tryouts are open to anyone over the age of 18, and no experience is required, though some improv and/or acting experience is recommended. The troupe holds auditions once a year to add to its well-rounded roster.
Tryouts will be entirely improvised, and include basic improv exercises, warm-ups, and games to measure how well prospective cast members work together. Please arrive at the start time and plan to stay for 3 hours. You will be playing multiple improv games with multiple auditioners and some of our professional players, so come ready to move and wear comfortable clothing. This is a relaxed and fun environment.
A special drop-in preparation workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 30th as well, and costs $5 at the door from 7-9PM. The drop-in class will inform potential players of what to expect during try-outs and also work some improv games. It is suggested to all auditioners to attend the drop-in workshop, but it is optional.

ComedySportz Indianapolis, known for its all-ages appropriate short form improv, plays four matches per week at its theatre on popular Mass Ave in downtown Indianapolis: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30, with another Saturday matinee at 4:30pm. CSz Players also work together on Late Night Series performances of improvised shows such as Oz: Unscripted, The Headless Horseman: Unscripted, The Blue Show and more throughout the year in rotation. Players also have the opportunity to travel throughout the state performing ComedySportz matches and more - all while being a contracted paid player!
CSz Indianapolis has been voted Best Local Comedy Group in NUVO Newsweekly in 2015 and 2016 and an Indy A-List winner for Best Live Comedy in 2015, 2016 and 2017. ComedySportz has been performing for over 24 years in Indianapolis.
