Party: Charlottetown Islanders Street Hockey Jamboree

The Charlottetown Islanders have announced that the 2016 Islanders Street Hockey Jamboree is scheduled for Saturday, September 17 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.

The one-day event, which is being held for the 3rd year, will take place on Kent Street (between University Ave and Prince Street) in Downtown Charlottetown. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and games start promptly at 8 a.m.

The event is open to boys and girls ages 6-12 and is free of charge. Teams will consist of four players and will be joined by an Islanders player or coach. Each team will be guaranteed four games in the rain-or-shine event. All registrations must be completed with teams of 4.

Every player will receive an Islanders T-shirt, Islanders Kit Bag and ticket to the Islanders Home Opener game vs Saint John Sea Dogs. Family and friends are welcome to attend the event with the recommendation that they bring lawn chairs for seating.

Water and a medical station will be on site to tend to any injuries or issues that occur throughout the day.

In addition to the ball hockey games, fans will have the chance to enjoy autographs and picture opportunities with Islanders players, a free BBQ, face painting, giveaways from Old Dutch and Coca Cola. The event will be hosted by Laura Woodworth of the The New Hot 105.5. Following the ball hockey event will be the official introduction of the 2016/17 Charlottetown Islanders roster.
