THE RIPTIDE MOVEMENT
Having blown the Irish music scene wide open in 2014 with their Number One, gold-selling album ‘Getting Through’, a string of Top 10 singles and various sold-out headline tours, the four piece – comprising Mal Tuohy (vocals and guitar), Jay Dalton (guitar), Gerry McGarry (bass & harmonica) and Gar Byrne (drums & piano) – are now setting their sights on worldwide success.
“We’ve never, ever taken ‘no’ for an answer,” says Mal. “If there’s something we want to do or achieve, we just sit down and say, ‘How are we going to make it happen?’ And it happens. I think that positivity and ‘If we all pull together…’ spirit comes through in our music too.”
A passionate, chiming, sing along anthem of positivity, accompanied by a striking video starring renowned Irish actress Amy Huberman that’s racked up almost half a million views, their single ‘All Works Out’ is a glorious calling card for the band.
DEAN GURRIE
Dean grew up surrounded by music of all genres which influenced his unique guitar style and rhythm. Hot Press commented “The quality of Dean's songwriting would suggest that with a little bit of good fortune a wider audience awaits for someone who has such an easy rapport with the audience”.
His first single, "Gimme a Chance”, demonstrates his passionate and personal song-writing skills and unique guitar style. The video for this single was directed by Sid Rainey, and features the incredible performance of renowned comedian and actor Joe Rooney.
Dean is currently putting the finishing touches to his debut album "The Calling".
